Jean-François BROGGIO

Jean-François BROGGIO, known as “FeruGio,” was born in 1963 in Seine-et-Marne, France. His maternal grandfather, a landscape painter, introduced him early on to Cubism and Fauvism. He studied in the workshops of Madame Laurent and Masters Bahurel and Corbes, where he learned techniques of light and shadow. His passion for Baroque and Bohemian arts likely stems from his Venetian roots; his ancestor Ottavio Broggio was a Baroque architect who transformed several churches in Litomerice, now recognized as historical landmarks.
In his youth, FeruGio experimented with urban art but quickly turned to large-format canvases. After a 27-year hiatus, he resumed painting in 2015 in Charmey, Switzerland, and has since explored styles such as Cubism, Art Brut, and Neo-Pop Art.
Since 2017, he has exhibited regularly in Switzerland and Paris. FeruGio is one of the 100 artists selected by the “Art D Fay” collective to participate in the exhibition La Marianne des Collines. This traveling exhibition reinterprets Marianne as a symbol of the French Republic and has been showcased in various French towns since July 14, 2021. It is also featured in a catalog published by the magazine Track.
