Marco LUPI

Marco LUPI was born in 1958. After studying at the CSIA (Center for Artistic Industries in Lugano), he took part in several exhibitions at home and abroad and continued his research on techniques and forms of expression independently. With his art, Lupi stimulates thought and encourages us to distinguish between truth and dreams, as is the case in life. Diligent visits to museums and exhibitions as well as exposure to a number of artists have contributed to his education, including Carlo Gulminelli, who played a very special role for him, both as a teacher and as a friend, and who accompanied his research for a long time with suggestions and advice. In 1985 he took part in a group exhibition curated by Gino Macconi, an important figure of the Ticino art and collecting. The themes of his pictures today, as then, are closely linked to his life and the relationships he forms, especially in the area of family and everyday life. What interests him is the human being, especially the inner human being, and what happens around him: from everyday experiences to childhood memories, from the chance encounters of a moment to those that are to fill his life He has exhibited regularly for almost 30 years of his activity, spreading out the exhibition opportunities over time to leave room for research.
